Som Tum Sauce is used to quickly prepare Green Papaya Salad (Som Tum), a famous spicy salad originating in Laos and the Isan region of northeastern Thailand. Add this ready-prepared sauce to raw, shredded green papaya and/or grated carrots and pound in a clay mortar and pestle set. Season to taste with fish sauce.
